Growth drive fuels 40 new jobs at Lime

A Glasgow-based renewable energy company is creating dozens of new jobs as it expands its operations across the UK amid growing demand for solar and battery storage technology.

Lime has created 30 jobs across Scotland, England and Wales since April and plans to recruit a further 40 office and sales employees over the next six months.

The company has surpassed growth targets set following its 2025 rebrand, expanding beyond Scotland and establishing a stronger presence across England and Wales.

James McLernon, head of marketing at Lime, said: “The pace of growth has genuinely exceeded our expectations.

“We launched an ambitious expansion strategy with a three and five-year roadmap, but we’ve reached milestones in months that we expected to take years.

“Creating jobs is one of the things we’re most proud of.

“We’ve welcomed 30 new team members since April and we’re preparing to recruit around 40 more as demand continues to grow across the UK.

“What we're seeing is a real shift in consumer behaviour.

“People want more control over their energy costs and they’re actively looking for trusted partners who can help them make the transition to renewable energy without the jargon and confusion.”

To support its continued growth, Lime is preparing to relocate from its Drumchapel headquarters to a new 10,000sq ft facility in Clydebank.

The company has also more than doubled its installation capacity over the past two years and is developing a dedicated division focused on government-backed renewable energy schemes.

Co-founder Paul McLernon added: “We've always believed there was room in the market for a renewable energy company that puts customers first and strips away the complexity that often surrounds the industry.

“We started with a simple idea: make renewable energy easier to understand and easier to access.

“Everything we’ve achieved has grown from that philosophy.

"What’s particularly exciting is that we're only just getting started.

“We're seeing demand from right across the UK and we're building a business capable of supporting customers wherever they are.”

Co-founder David Turnbull added: “We're incredibly proud of our Scottish roots and the business we’ve built here, but our ambition has always been bigger than Scotland alone.

“Our vision is to become one of the UK’s most trusted renewable energy brands.

“We’re growing quickly, but we're determined to maintain the values that got us here in the first place: honesty, transparency and putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

“The renewable energy sector is evolving rapidly and we believe Lime is well placed to play a significant role in that future.”
