Law firm Tyr expands with Bristol office

A Yorkshire law firm has marked a new milestone in its expansion plans with a move into Bristol.

Tyr has opened a city centre office in the South West city, further extending its reach beyond its Leeds headquarters.

The move gives the firm a presence in a city known for its strong legal sector and thriving technology, creative and aviation industries.

Leading the new office are commercial litigators Darren Kidd and Martin Cox, who join Tyr with experience gained at major national and international law firms, including Herbert Smith Freehills, Stewarts, Freshfields and Clarke Willmott.

The pair specialise in domestic and international commercial disputes, with a particular focus on banking and financial services matters.

Darren said: “Joining Tyr and launching our Bristol office presents an exciting time for both the firm and the Bristol legal market, and I am very much looking forward to growing Tyr’s premium service in the South West.”

Tyr continues to offer a full range of legal services, including corporate, commercial property, employment and construction law.

The firm, which has just entered its eighth year in business, marked the opening with a launch event overlooking Bristol Harbour, bringing together legal professionals, business leaders and clients from across the region.

Alistair Kennedy, partner at Tyr, added: “Opening another office demonstrates the firm’s ambitions and reflects its exceptional work over recent years.

“Darren and Martin joining Tyr is a first step towards us providing a full service to Bristol and the wider market.”
