Switalskis strengthens abuse compensation team
Law firm Switalskis has strengthened its Wakefield-based abuse compensation team with the appointments of Alison McCormack, Kate Hall and Kayla Rose.
Alison joins as a solicitor with more than 20 years of legal experience and has specialised in abuse compensation for the past decade.
She has worked extensively on historical child abuse cases and will support the firm’s involvement in the forthcoming grooming gangs inquiry.
Kate also joins as a solicitor, bringing more than eight years of experience handling child abuse compensation claims.
Having qualified through the SQE apprenticeship route in 2024, she has developed particular expertise in exploitation claims.
Kate said: “My approach is always client focussed, and I will continue to build trust with survivors and work at their pace.
“I knew that if I wanted to support claims against exploitation, the only firm that could offer the expertise was Switalskis.”
Completing the trio of appointments is paralegal Kayla Rose, who joins the firm after taking part in Switalskis’ work experience programme.
Their appointments reflect growing demand for specialist legal support for abuse survivors and further strengthen Switalskis’ nationally recognised abuse compensation team, which now comprises 21 specialists across Yorkshire and London.
David Greenwood, director and head of abuse compensation at Switalskis, added: “Our work requires a unique combination of technical capability, compassion and understanding, and a determination to give survivors a voice and strong legal representation.
“Survivors can find the claims process overwhelming and confusing, and we aim to provide clear, pragmatic advice in the most transparent way possible.
“These excellent appointments strengthen our teams and will help us continue to maintain high standards as we support more survivors.”
