Professional services group Gateley has announced 19 promotions at its Birmingham headquarters, including three new partners and the appointment of a new office head.
Jamie Gillespie (corporate), Thea Maertens (commercial dispute resolution) and Richard Tindall (real estate) have all been promoted to partner within Gateley Legal.
The firm has also appointed corporate partner Max Moore as office head for Birmingham.
He will lead the firm's 500-strong Birmingham operation while continuing his corporate practice, specialising in mergers and acquisitions and transactions across sectors including hotels, infrastructure, operational real estate and housebuilding.
Elsewhere, Nicki Rushmer, Eliza Summerfield, Joanne Duck, Ed Locock and Charlotte Hickman have been promoted to legal director, while Sarbjit Pooni and Joshua Saxton become senior associates.
A further six lawyers have progressed to associate level: Sophie Newby, Caryn Donn, Zhuo Li, Holly Caulwell, David Harris and Zara Hussain.
Gateley’s specialist property and construction consultancy businesses have also seen promotions, with Liam Heeley and Quiana Higgins stepping up at Gateley Hamer, and Hannah Kirkwood promoted at Gateley Vinden.
Max said: “Congratulations to everyone on their very well-deserved promotions.
“Year after year, we are proud to be celebrating and rewarding the fantastic local talent we have in the region.
“This year’s promotions showcase the full spectrum of services Gateley is able to offer.
“With over 500 professionals based here, we are one of the largest professional services-led businesses in the region, giving us the strength in depth to help our clients navigate the challenges ahead.
“On a personal note, I am delighted to be taking up the office head role in Birmingham. Gateley has been in the city for more than 200 years.
“It gives me great pride to be tasked with leading a business with such a rich heritage here as we look to build on the brilliant work done in the past and further build our profile in the Midlands market.”
The Birmingham promotions form part of a wider round of 69 promotions across Gateley’s UK and Dubai offices, including 11 new partners.
