Muse appoints project director

Nationwide placemaker Muse has appointed Max King as director of project management in its Yorkshire and North East team.

Max rejoins the business after previously spending five years with Muse’s North West team before serving as director of projects at Latimer by Clarion.

He brings extensive experience in housing delivery and large-scale town and city centre regeneration.

In his new role, Max will support the delivery of major placemaking projects across the region, including Bradford City Village, East Bank in Hull, Durham Innovation District, Baltic Quarter in Gateshead, Wakefield’s Strategic Regeneration Partnership and the recently announced Sunniside partnership with Sunderland City Council.

Max said: “I’m delighted to be returning to Muse and joining the Yorkshire and North East team at such an important point for the region.

“There is a strong pipeline of ambitious regeneration projects, backed by talented people and trusted partnerships, creating a real opportunity to deliver places that generate lasting economic and social value.

“I’m looking forward to working closely with the team at Muse and alongside our public and private sector partners to build on that momentum.

“By combining experience, collaboration and a clear focus on delivery, we can turn ambition into tangible outcomes for the communities we serve.”

Max’s appointment further strengthens Muse’s project management capability as it continues to expand its regeneration portfolio across Yorkshire and the North East.

Simon Dew, regional managing director at Muse, added: “Our Yorkshire and North East team has grown considerably over the last 18 months, attracting talent from across the country.

“This is a watershed moment for the revitalisation of the region’s towns and cities with local communities at the heart of everything we do.

“Max brings a strong understanding of Muse’s long-term, place-led approach, combined with both technical expertise and genuine passion for embracing the locality.

“Alongside this, his wider market experience will be invaluable as we progress our work in the region, and continue to support our local authority partners to create places that have a socio-economic impact beyond the redline boundary.”
