Traffic system support firm in gear with local authority deal
A transport infrastructure maintenance firm has strengthened its client book.
Yunex Traffic has secured a four-year Rhondda Cynon Taf Borough Council contract.
Bosses say the operator is delivering system upgrades, maintenance and emergency fault response support to traffic control and associated equipment across the Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil local authority areas.
Overseen by the company's Treforest depot, they add the agreement could be extended by a further two years.
Wilke Reints, managing director of Poole-headquartered Yunex Traffic, said: “We are delighted to have been selected to work with these local authorities across South Wales.
“We look forward to working closely with the authorities’ teams and providing a comprehensive and coordinated one-stop-shop service for the region's traffic signal and control operations.”
He added the deal includes an offer to build a pedestrian crossing at a new Clydach Vale special educational needs and disability school, provide 40 work experience placements, teach road safety in local primary schools and carry out additional traffic signal checks.
