E-bike maker eyes Europe after Deliveroo partnership
An electric bicycle maker is hoping to scoot into Europe after landing a fast-food sector deal.
Eskuta has secured an agreement to supply e-bikes to Deliveroo.
Bosses say the tie-up leaves the Nuneaton-based company well placed to expand across the continent, with work underway to secure a European-based service and repairs operator.
They add the blueprint will be aided by a new payment model – supported by finance provider Payl8r – which they say has already provided a 20 per cent sales increase.
Ian O’Connor, founder and chief executive of the Bermuda Park Industrial Estate-based business, which also supplies e-bikes to Just Eat, said: “There’s a real sense that the market is shifting, and we’ve worked hard to make sure we’re on the right side of that change.
“It’s about giving riders something they can trust and feel confident using every day.
“Seeing our bikes out on the road with brands like Deliveroo and Just Eat makes me proud.”
Eskuta’s growth strategy has been backed by support service Business Ready, which is run by University of Warwick Science Park and funded by Warwickshire County Council.
Ian McFarlane-Toms, business adviser, said: “It’s been incredibly rewarding to see Eskuta evolve with such clarity and purpose.
“There’s a real determination to do things properly and build something that genuinely works for customers.
“You can feel the momentum building, and we hope our advice will enable the business to crack the European market.”
Councillor Rob Howard, Warwickshire County Council’s portfolio holder for economy, added: “Business Ready’s tailored support has helped Eskuta identify a strategy for growth to reach new markets and customers.”
