Jobs saved in retail display maker rescue agreement
More than 30 jobs have been saved after a retail display maker was rescued from administration.
Mailway Displays has bought Derwent Displays.
Bosses say the move has saved 33 jobs and secured operations at Derwent Displays’ factory on the outskirts of Ripley, in Derbyshire.
Under the terms of the deal, the business will operate under Bradford-based Mailway Displays’ name.
The sale comes after Derwent Displays – founded as a family-run business in 1994 before undergoing a management buyout in 2023 – experienced cashflow pressures.
The firm is known for designing and making point-of-sale display, packaging and distribution products for brands, marketing agencies and print management companies across the UK.
Mailway Displays – part of the Mainway Packaging Group – provides packing and display support for customers across a range of sectors.
Ben Fallon, joint administrator and director at financial advisory and restructuring group BTG, said: “We are really pleased to have secured this sale.
“Derwent Displays has developed an excellent reputation over more than 30 years.”
BTG was supported by Gateley Legal on the deal, with Hill Dickinson acting for Mailway Displays.
