Pension scheme firm in 'significant' retail deal
A multi-billion-pound pension scheme manager has secured a retail deal.
Railpen has supported moves to sign fashion brand Belstaff at Caledonia Park.
Officials say the agreement represents “a significant endorsement” for the Gretna-based shopping site.
They add motorcycle-inspired waxed cotton and leather jacket retailer Belstaff will open a 2500sq ft unit “in the coming months”.
Alex Luker, senior asset manager at Railpen, which manages the £34 billion UK railways pension scheme from offices in London and Darlington, said: “Belstaff will attract a broad and engaged customer base from far and wide.
“As we continue to invest in the long-term success of the destination, attracting brands of this calibre is central to our vision for Caledonia Park.”
The deal comes after Superdry & Co opened its first UK outlet store at the shopping venue.
