Law firm opens city office as service demand rises
A law firm has expanded into York amid rising demand.
Leeds-founded Consilia Legal has opened a base in the city.
The office will be led by York-born family lawyer, mediator and collaborative law specialist Sam Sinclair, who has joined the firm to advise clients on separation, with particular expertise in complex financial arrangements and resolving disputes outside court.
Sam said: “York is home for me, so opening Consilia Legal’s office here is particularly special.
“Many clients want to resolve family issues privately and constructively, especially where there are businesses, property, pensions or wider family interests involved.
“My aim is to help people move forward with clarity, dignity and as much control over the process as possible.”
The expansion broadens Consilia Legal’s reach across Leeds, Harrogate, York, Scarborough and Bridlington, while strengthening relationships with business owners, professional advisers and families seeking specialist legal support.
Alongside family law, the firm’s mediation offering helps separating couples reach agreements without court proceedings, including matters involving children, business interests, trusts, property portfolios, pensions and overseas assets.
Sam added: “The new office will allow us to support more clients, while working closely with trusted professional advisers where families need joined-up guidance.”
Laura Clapton, director at Consilia Legal, added: “Opening in York is a significant milestone for the firm and a natural next step in our growth across Yorkshire.
“Sam has an outstanding reputation for combining technical expertise with a calm, practical and empathetic approach.
“The York office builds on our Leeds roots and established presence in Harrogate and London, while making our services more accessible to clients across North and East Yorkshire and the coast.”
