Plans approved for 228-affordable home scheme
An affordable homes venture has received approval for a 228-property scheme.
Habiko has been backed to create the second phase of Solihull’s Holbeche Place development.
Officials say the project – which forms part of a wider 1600-home blueprint – will help ensure the West Midlands market town “remains a vibrant destination to live and visit”.
They add the second phase will include affordable one and two-bed homes, with rents set at 20 per cent below local market levels.
Habiko, which received approval from Solihull Council for the endeavour, is a partnership between Pension Insurance Corporation, Muse and Homes England.
Lisa Turley, Muse development director, said: “Securing Habiko’s first homes in the West Midlands is an important step forward for the wider Holbeche Place masterplan.
“These homes will play a key role in meeting local demand for high-quality affordable housing in a location that connects people to shops, services and transport.”
Councillor Karen Grinsell, leader of Solihull Council, added: “This is another important milestone for Holbeche Place and demonstrates the progress being made towards delivering our vision for Solihull.
“We look forward to seeing these plans become reality.”
Habiko earlier this year secured approval for a 240-property venture in Warrington it says will include two six-storey apartment buildings.
