Mincoffs strengthens corporate and employment teams

Newcastle-based Mincoffs Solicitors has strengthened its corporate and employment teams with the appointments of solicitors Danial Shafe and Sarah Johnston.

Danial joins the firm’s corporate team after training and qualifying at a legal consultancy providing outsourced contract management for banks, asset managers and hedge funds.

He also holds a master’s degree in banking and finance and has advised on a range of financial derivatives, including leading support for a FTSE 100 company.

At Mincoffs, he will support clients on a broad range of corporate transactions.

Danial said: “I am delighted to have joined the corporate team at Mincoffs. 

“The firm has an impressive presence in the North East and renowned expertise in the corporate sector that goes beyond the region, and I am incredibly excited to be a part of it. 

“I look forward to continuing to develop my skills within the team and learning from some of the best in the business!”

Sarah joins the employment team after training and qualifying at the Newcastle office of a transatlantic law firm.

Working alongside partner Nick Smith and associate solicitor Laura Liddle, she will advise clients on employment tribunal disputes, contracts and policies, redundancies, restructures and disciplinary matters.

Sarah added: “I am incredibly pleased to have joined the employment team at Mincoffs.

“The firm holds a strong reputation across the North East and I am looking forward to being a part of that established presence.

“Since joining everyone has been extremely welcoming and integrating into the firm has been a smooth process.

“With the recent shake up to UK employment law, it is a great time to be joining the department. 

“I am keen to get stuck in, develop my skills and support the team’s ongoing growth.”

Their appointments are the latest in a series of hires made by Mincoffs over the past year as the firm continues to expand its legal offering.

Established more than 75 years ago, the firm provides legal services across corporate, real estate, dispute resolution, employment, family law, residential conveyancing, licensing and gaming, and wills, probate and trusts.
