Contractor joy at 'flagship' city residential project

A construction and civil engineering firm has strengthened its order book with a “flagship” residential project.

Falcon Fox Developments has been appointed principal contractor on the Vaux Housing scheme.

Based on the footprint of Sunderland’s former brewery, bosses say the company will oversee the creation of 93 homes across two apartment blocks and housing and maisonette clusters.

They add remediation and civil engineering work has been completed, with structural frames on buildings – set to include solar panels and air source heat pumps – “advancing across multiple phases”.

The contract follows a public procurement process led by Sunderland City Council and Siglion Developments LLP.
