Housing venture plots 152-affordable home scheme

A housing operator has submitted plans for a 150-plus affordable property venture.

Anwyl Partner Projects hopes to create a Stockport estate.

Earmarked for the borough’s Woodley suburb, officials say the 152-property scheme would “help address a significant shortage of homes”.

They add the development’s first homes could be completed late next year if Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council planning bosses approve the blueprint.

Anwyl Partner Projects – the affordable housing arm of Ewloe and Chorley-based housebuilder Anwyl – is working with Great Places Housing Group on the project.

Mathew Anwyl, chief operating officer at Anwyl Homes, said: “The need for affordable housing continues to grow across Greater Manchester.

“Partner Projects was created to focus exclusively on affordable housing delivery and this scheme demonstrates the strength of that approach.”

Nick Gornall, director of growth at Manchester-headquartered Great Places Housing Group, added: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Anwyl Partner Projects on this proposed development.

“We’re already delivering more than 350 affordable homes across the borough, and this development would allow us to build on that work.”

Anwyl Partner Projects was additionally supported on the planning application by Asteer Planning, APD, Focus Transport Planning and TPM Landscape.
