Baines Jewitt appoints senior manager
Stockton-based chartered accountancy firm Baines Jewitt has appointed Darren Ellis as senior manager.
Darren joins the firm’s accountancy team from Fairfield, bringing more than 20 years’ experience advising businesses across the North East.
A Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA), he began his career as a trainee accountant and has progressed through a series of senior roles in practice.
Alongside his accountancy expertise, Darren has extensive experience supporting owner-managed businesses and mentoring junior colleagues through their professional qualifications.
In his new role, Darren will work with a broad range of clients, including sole traders, start-ups, family businesses, SMEs and larger corporate organisations.
Darren said: “The world of tax and accountancy is forever changing which keeps things interesting.
“Luckily, I enjoy developing new skills, keeping on top of legislation, getting to grips with policy changes and providing a tailored approach to the specific business needs of clients.
“Because I’ve worked my way up from a junior level, I also have a good overview of chartered accountancy practices as a whole.
“This helps whether managing client portfolios, prioritising workloads, finalising accounts, helping clients remain compliant or developing staff at all levels, so they can fulfil their potential.”
Don Adams, director of Baines Jewitt, added: “Darren’s range of expertise and FCCA status highlight his credible, consistent approach to career growth, extensive experience in the field, long-term commitment to professionalism and ethics and dedication to strong leadership within the accounting industry.
“It is good to have him on board.”
