Schofield Sweeney welcomes private wealth expert

Commercial law firm Schofield Sweeney has appointed Amanda Simmonds as a director in its private wealth team.

Amanda joins the firm's 20-strong specialist practice with 38 years’ experience advising clients on wills, trusts, estate administration, lasting powers of attorney and tax planning.

She also has particular expertise in succession planning for family businesses, as well as complex trust structures and cross-border matters.

A member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Amanda led the team that drafted the STEP Standard Provisions third edition and has received a STEP Founder’s Award in recognition of her contribution to the organisation.

Amanda said: “I’m excited to join a team recognised for its collaborative approach, extensive knowledge and personal service.

“Schofield Sweeney is known for putting clients at the centre of everything they do, and I look forward to working with new clients and building on existing relationships.”

Schofield Sweeney said Amanda’s appointment further strengthens its private wealth offering, enhancing the firm’s ability to support individuals, families and business owners with succession planning, estate management and complex private client matters.

John Feaster, partner, private wealth and succession at Schofield Sweeney, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Amanda to our team.

“She has a stellar reputation in the industry and brings a wealth of experience to our 20 strong department which now includes nine full STEP members and two chartered tax advisers.

“I’m excited to work with Amanda to develop opportunities with existing and new clients in the ever-changing world of capital taxes.”
