The Young Foundation expands trustee board

The Young Foundation has appointed six new trustees to its board, strengthening its expertise across public policy, research, systems change, governance and social innovation.

Joining the board are Andrew Puddephatt OBE, Claire Dhami, Joanna Choukeir, Nikos Adamidis, Dr Peter O’Brien and Sarah Chaytor.

Together, they bring experience spanning human rights, public sector innovation, higher education, infrastructure policy, regional development and research engagement.

The appointments come as several long-serving trustees complete their terms, with the new board members helping to guide the organisation's work tackling social challenges through research, innovation and collaboration.

The new trustees will strengthen the board’s collective expertise as it continues its mission to develop practical solutions to complex social issues and shape a fairer future through partnership and systems change.

Kersten England CBE, chair of The Young Foundation CBE, said: “Andrew, Claire, Joanna, Nikos, Peter and Sarah arrive at a significant moment, as we at The Young Foundation take a new step in our five-year strategy, driving the power of participation.

“Our work to address issues affecting UK communities, organisations and policymakers continues – including research and innovation around the impacts of emerging technologies, greater devolution of power under our new Prime Minister, and community resilience in the face of global turbulence and geopolitical shocks.

“Never has the spirit of our founder, Michael Young, felt so needed.

“We look forward to working with our board, staff, partners, friends, and communities around the UK to continue to drive radical change from the ground up, with bold, innovative and game-changing initiatives.”

Dr Sue Griffiths, chief executive at The Young Foundation, added: “We are delighted to welcome our new trustees to The Young Foundation’s board.

“Together, they bring an exceptional breadth of experience across policy, research, design, systems leadership, higher education, and social innovation.

“Alongside our chair and existing trustees, their expertise will help guide the organisation as we work alongside communities, partners and policymakers to create more connected, equitable and resilient futures.

“I am looking forward to working with such a talented, inspiring and insightful group in the years ahead.”
