Caddick builds book with self-storage hub project

A builder has boosted its order book with a self-storage contract.

Caddick Construction has been named principal contractor to design and deliver a Newcastle-based Big Yellow Self Storage hub.

Bosses say the four-storey 60,000 net sq ft base is set for completion next summer.

Based on Newcastle’s Scotswood Road, they add it will feature roof-mounted solar panels, battery storage and car parks, and complement an existing Industry Road site in the city.

The firm also says the contract marks another highlight in Wakefield-headquartered Caddick Construction’s first year in the North East, with the deal adding to work including Richardson Barberry’s new DPD parcel hub at Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.
