Engineering consultancy in energy scheme boost
An engineering consultancy has powered up its order book with an energy sector project.
Steve Morgan Associates has been appointed to support a Scottish battery energy storage system base.
Bosses say the Newport-based company will provide civil and structural support on foundation, layout and drainage design for Root-Power’s planned multi-million-pound Dounreay site.
They add work on the 34-megawatt hub – based near Thurso, in the Scottish Highlands – will start later this year.
Steve Morgan, founder and director of his eponymous business, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Root-Power and delivering the engineering design requirements needed to ensure the right infrastructure is put in place.
“From drainage and detailed construction drawings, through to responding to local authority technical queries, our experienced team can’t wait to get started.”
Neil Brooks, Root-Power managing director, added: “We awarded this major contract to Steve Morgan Associates because of its proven expertise in civil and structural engineering, and its experience of working on battery energy storage system facilities of this size.”
