Protein Works promotes sales and marketing director
Liverpool-based nutrition brand Protein Works has promoted Ollie Chissell to the newly created role of sales and marketing director as it enters its next phase of growth under Lactalis Group.
Ollie joined Protein Works as a digital marketing executive in 2017 and has progressed through a series of increasingly senior commercial and marketing roles during his nine years with the business.
In his new position, he will lead a 25-strong team and oversee Protein Works’ sales and marketing strategy across the UK and Europe, spanning ecommerce, customer acquisition and retention, marketplaces and emerging sales channels.
He will also identify new commercial opportunities as the brand continues to expand.
Ollie said: “When I joined Protein Works in 2017, I was simply hoping someone would give me a chance.
“I had no industry experience, just a huge amount of enthusiasm and a determination to prove myself.
“Looking back now, it's incredible to think how far both I and the business have come.
“Protein Works has continually invested in me, challenged me and given me opportunities to grow, and I’m incredibly grateful for that.
“It’s a hugely exciting time to step into this role.
“We’re building on over ten consecutive years of sales growth, moved into our state-of-the-art new home at PW Campus just last year and, most recently, are beginning an exciting new chapter following our acquisition by Lactalis Group.
“We have an exceptional team at Protein Works, ambitious plans and a huge opportunity ahead of us.
“So, I’m excited to help lead what comes next!”
Ollie’s promotion comes after ten consecutive years of sales growth at Protein Works and follows its recent acquisition by global dairy group Lactalis, which is supporting the company’s next phase of expansion.
Laura Keir, chief executive of Protein Works, added: “Ollie’s journey is exactly the kind of success story we’re proud to create at Protein Works.
“He joined us with steadfast determination and a willingness to learn, and over the past nine years he’s consistently demonstrated the leadership, commercial instinct and drive needed to help take our business forward.
“One of the things that makes Protein Works different is that we genuinely believe great people don't always come with the perfect CV.
“We’ve built a culture where talented people are given opportunities, supported to develop and rewarded for the impact they make.
“Ollie’s promotion is a brilliant example of that philosophy in action.
“As we enter an exciting new chapter for the business, we look forward to seeing the impact he'll have in this new role.”
