Business park sale unlocks further investment

A fully-let Warwickshire business park has been sold to unlock further investment in commercial developments aimed at supporting growing businesses across the county.

Warwickshire Property & Development Group (WPDG) has completed the sale of Sucham Park in Southam, its first directly delivered commercial scheme.

The 42,200sq ft development comprises nine industrial units ranging from 1900sq ft to 15,000sq ft, all of which were let within 12 months of construction completing.

Six businesses now occupy the former unused site at Holywell Business Park, supporting around 100 jobs.

Occupiers include electric vehicle battery and motor recycling specialist Green Tech Industries, reclaimed raised flooring supplier RMF Installation and Services and fastener and engineered components supplier Auto Fasteners.

The energy-efficient development also features solar panels and ten electric vehicle charging points and has achieved an EPC A rating.

WPDG, which was established by Warwickshire County Council, will use the sale to support further commercial development.

Its pipeline includes Greville Business Park, between Leamington and Warwick, where 28,000sq ft across 11 units is planned.

The group has also submitted proposals for a 21,350sq ft scheme on the former Bloxham Centre site in Rugby.

Councillor James Crocker, deputy leader and portfolio holder for finance and property at Warwickshire County Council, said: “Sucham Park demonstrates how the Council, through WPDG, can use its assets and investment to support economic growth across Warwickshire.

“The sale of the scheme marks another successful milestone and will allow further investment in new commercial developments that will create even more opportunities for businesses and communities across the county.”

Stuart Buckley, managing director of WPDG, added: “Sucham Park was our first commercial development and it is a great example of what we were formed to do.

“This was an unused development site which has been transformed into high-quality space that has created jobs and given SME businesses the space to thrive in Warwickshire.

“Our challenge now is to build on this success and create more opportunities for businesses, jobs and investment across Warwickshire.

“The sale will enable us to do this and invest in bringing forward our next commercial schemes.”

Avison Young advised WPDG on the Sucham Park sale.
