McCormicks appoints head of employment law
North Yorkshire law firm McCormicks Solicitors has appointed Lanre Fakunle as head of employment law following the retirement of the department’s former head.
Lanre joins the Harrogate-based firm as a senior associate from a Manchester practice, bringing extensive experience across contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
He has advised businesses ranging from SMEs to large organisations on areas including TUPE, restructuring and redundancy, as well as new HR, legal and company infrastructure. His experience also includes representing clients at Employment Tribunal hearings across the UK.
In his new role, Lanre will advise employers and employees on matters including incentives and rewards, transfers and secondments, disciplinary proceedings, sickness and absence, maternity leave, dismissals, discrimination, whistleblowing and protected disclosures.
Managing partner Stephen Hopwood said: “Lanre has a great skill set and lots to offer and we are delighted to welcome him to the team at McCormicks.”
