Tech firm serves up support for padel facility

A North East technology firm has served up the digital infrastructure for a new indoor padel venue in Gateshead.

Advantex has completed a major technology project for Pikup Padel at its new 33,500sq ft facility at Follingsby Park.

The venue features 11 indoor courts – nine doubles and two singles – alongside coaching, retail and community facilities as the sport continues to grow across the region.

Advantex was appointed to deliver the core infrastructure required to support the site, spanning internet connectivity, networking, security, cabling, CCTV and audiovisual technology.

Work included installing a dedicated leased line to provide resilient business-grade internet connectivity and a hosted managed firewall to protect the venue’s network and connected systems.

The firm also designed and installed site-wide Wi-Fi and switching infrastructure, providing connectivity for staff, customers and devices throughout the facility.

A structured cabling system supports the wireless network and audiovisual equipment, while IP cameras have been installed across key areas to strengthen security.

Advantex also delivered audiovisual technology aimed at enhancing the atmosphere and customer experience.

Pikup Padel’s new facility represents the latest investment in the North East’s rapidly expanding padel scene.

Alongside its courts, the venue provides coaching and social sessions, events and a dedicated pro shop, catering for players across different experience levels.
