Partnership delivers 100-home scheme

A housing provider has completed 100 affordable homes in South Queensferry as part of a wider development set to deliver almost 400 properties.

Sanctuary Scotland has delivered the homes at The Crossings on Builyeon Road, marking its first development in Edinburgh.

Built in partnership with national housing specialist Lovell Partnerships, the scheme comprises 64 two-bedroom flats, 16 two-bedroom houses and 20 three-bedroom houses.

The properties, completed in May, form part of a wider 398-home masterplan and have been supported by grant funding from the Scottish Government.

All 100 achieve an EPC B energy efficiency rating and feature photovoltaic panels designed to reduce energy demand and residents’ fuel costs.

They have also been constructed using an offsite-manufactured timber-frame system made from sustainably sourced materials.

The Crossings development

The wider development has been designed around 20-minute neighbourhood principles, with active travel connections to Southern Woodland Walk and Dundas Estate Park.

Cycle storage, electric vehicle charging facilities and access to a car club also feature within the plans.

Representatives from Sanctuary Scotland and Lovell Partnerships recently visited The Crossings alongside members of Queensferry & District Community Council to mark the milestone, touring the development and meeting residents.

“They’re about creating places where people want to live and where communities can grow.

“We would also like to thank Queensferry & District Community Council for its ongoing engagement and for sharing local insights throughout the project.”

Sanctuary Scotland, which has served communities since 1996, is part of social housing and care provider Sanctuary, which owns and manages more than 125,000 homes across the UK.
