BRM expands contentious probate team
A law firm has strengthened its contentious trusts and probate offering with an appointment that gives the team a permanent presence in Chesterfield.
BRM has appointed Isobel Price as a solicitor, expanding a department traditionally based at its Sheffield city centre office and advising on disputes involving wills, estates and inheritances across South Yorkshire and Derbyshire.
Isobel brings experience spanning agricultural inheritance disputes, Court of Protection matters and complex claims involving trusts and property ownership.
She began her legal career with Irwin Mitchell in Sheffield before joining Spencers Solicitors in Chesterfield and later completing her training contract with agricultural specialist Nigel Davis Solicitors, qualifying in 2023.
Her experience includes resolving high-value inheritance, trust and property disputes involving assets worth millions of pounds.
Isobel said: “Joining BRM is an exciting opportunity for me to build on my experience, contribute to the firm’s impressive contentious probate team, and learn from experienced colleagues within a forward-thinking and supportive firm.
“I chose to join BRM because of the firm’s strong reputation and its commitment to providing high-quality, client-focused legal advice.
“I was particularly drawn to the opportunity to develop my experience in contentious probate, an area of law that combines complex legal issues with highly personal and often sensitive family disputes.”
Isobel's appointment forms part of BRM's ongoing recruitment drive, which has also included the recent arrival of Anthony Ogley as director of residential and commercial development and further appointments across its corporate and employment teams.
Lewis Hastie, director of contentious probate at BRM, added: “It has been a very successful year for our contentious trusts and probate team, as well as the wider firm.
“We were looking to add a solicitor with experience of inheritance disputes and Court of Protection matters as our department continues to grow, and Isobel was the perfect fit.
"As a Chesterfield local, Isobel strengthens our presence in the town and enables us to support local clients even more effectively, while her experience acting for agricultural clients brings valuable additional expertise to the team.”
