Hay & Kilner appoints senior duo

North East law firm Hay & Kilner has made two senior appointments to its wills, trusts and estates team as demand for specialist private client advice continues to grow.

Andrew Steel has joined as partner, having previously been head of private client at a Teesside-based law firm.

He advises clients across wills, trusts, probate and Court of Protection matters and will work across Hay & Kilner’s newly opened Stockton office and its Newcastle headquarters.

Andrew said: “I have always been impressed by Hay & Kilner and its positive reputation. 

“I was keen to take the next step in my career and the firm offered the opportunity to do that. 

“I’m looking forward to joining the team and supporting clients across the region.”

Sarah McColl has joined as associate after previously working at a firm with offices in Gosforth and Sunderland.

Her expertise includes wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, lifetime trusts and estate planning, as well as probate and estate administration.

She also advises high-net-worth clients, including on complex wills incorporating trusts.

Their appointments form part of Hay & Kilner’s continued expansion of its private client offering, supporting individuals, families and high-net-worth clients across a broad range of personal and family wealth matters.

Andrew’s arrival also adds further senior expertise to the firm’s growing Teesside presence following the opening of its Stockton office.
