Builder gets underway on 43-property endeavour

A housebuilder has started work on a 43-home scheme.

Bargate is laying the first bricks on a Hampshire development.

Bosses say the estate, based in Havant’s Bedhampton suburb, will feature two, three and four-bed houses and chalet bungalows.

Known as The Bluebells, it will also include affordable homes delivered alongside housing provider VIVID, as well as air source heat pumps, solar panels and electric vehicle charging points.

Mark White, managing director, said: “As well as delivering much-needed new homes, The Bluebells will create a new play area, community garden and allotments.

“That's something we're particularly proud of because it will help strengthen what is already becoming a well-established community for years to come.”

The construction milestone comes just weeks after Fair Oak-headquartered Bargate secured outline planning permission for another Hampshire estate in Braishfield, on the outskirts of Romsey.
