Growth child's play for nursery firm in expansion

A childcare operator has expanded with a takeover.

Granby Nurseries has bought four Lincolnshire sites.

Bosses say the move extends Granby Nurseries’ portfolio to 13 bases and marks “another significant step in its regional growth”.

The deal includes First Timers, in Wellingore, south of Lincoln; Head Start Ramsey Nursery, in Boston; and two Town and Country Nursery hubs in Market Rasen and Louth.

Dr Sipra Deb, managing director of Granby Nurseries, whose network also includes sites in Doncaster, Rotherham and Worksop, said the acquisitions represent a “hugely significant milestone”.

She said: “When I acquired Granby Nurseries, I already owned and operated four established settings through other companies.

“Since then, we have brought those businesses together as one wider group, grown our portfolio to nine settings and now, with this acquisition, to 13.

“I am incredibly proud of that journey and of the people whose commitment, hard work and belief have made our continued growth possible.

“This acquisition establishes a significant presence for us in Lincolnshire and gives the group an exciting platform for further sustainable growth.”

The deal was supported by Huddersfield-headquartered Ramsdens Solicitors, with corporate and commercial senior associate Emma Spragg overseeing negotiations alongside legal assistant Claudia Devers, with further support from Ridley & Hall’s David Amies and Callidus Law’s Paul Farmer.

Emma added: “It was brilliant to play a part in the continued growth of the group as it establishes a significant presence in Lincolnshire.
