Probe takes aim at industrial dust

A Northumberland environmental technology specialist is taking aim at industrial dust and odour with the launch of a new two-in-one suppression system designed to reduce water consumption.

Bedlington-based Probe Industries has developed its ProDual Dust Cannon, combining a high-pressure cannon for long-range dust control with a fine droplet atomiser for tackling larger odour zones.

Designed for industries including manufacturing, waste management, recycling, construction and biomass, the mobile system requires just one water supply and can be moved between different areas as work progresses, allowing operators to switch between modes according to site requirements.

In cannon mode, the unit delivers a focused mist across 40 to 50 metres with 360-degree rotation.

Its atomiser mode uses a purpose-built fan to cover larger areas while consuming less water and requiring fewer machines.

Probe says the technology can reduce water consumption by up to two-thirds compared with typical nozzle-based systems by optimising droplet sizes for odour neutralisation.
