Excello Law strengthens support teams

International fee-share law firm Excello Law has expanded its business services operation by 20 per cent, alongside appointing its first chief financial officer and making a series of senior promotions.

Sarah James has been promoted to chief financial officer after seven years with the firm, joining its senior leadership team alongside founder and chief executive George Bisnought and chief operating officer Jo Losty.

Rebecca Lehec has been promoted to director of 360 support and business services, while Laurna Whittaker becomes finance director.

Further promotions include Sian Pace to business services manager, Alex McGrady-Johnston to workflow coordinator, Shakeira Davies-Raby to compliance officer and Fatimah Khawaja to HR coordinator.

The investment has taken Excello’s business services headcount across finance, compliance, IT and administration to 68, supporting 287 lawyers across the UK and internationally.

Its finance team has grown by 45 per cent over the past year, while the IT team has doubled in size and Excello 360, which provides day-to-day operational support to consultant lawyers, has expanded by 30 per cent.

The growth follows the addition of 45 consultant lawyers across Excello and its House of Brands teams during the past 12 months.

Jo Losty, chief operating officer at Excello Law, added: “We hold ourselves out as the leading firm in the market for our support offering, and our support is consistently rated excellent by the lawyers who rely on it.

“That standard only holds if we keep investing in it.

“That's why we’ve put real resource into scaling our finance, compliance, IT and 360 teams well ahead of demand, not behind it.

“Becky's promotion recognises the team she built from scratch, one that lawyers consistently tell us is excellent.

“Sarah’s appointment as chief financial officer gives us the financial leadership to plan that growth properly for the long term.

“Congratulations to everyone moving into new roles at Excello.”
