Collard Group 'in gear for growth' after takeover
A motorsport ace-turned-business boss says a waste management venture is set to shift up a gear following a takeover.
Collard Group has bought Raymond Brown Rookery Holdco.
The deal includes subsidiary Raymond Brown Rookery Properties and has seen Collard Group snap up a 40-acre recycling base near Fareham, in Hampshire.
Boss Rob Collard says the swoop – completed for an undisclosed sum from Elysian Capital and other sellers – “marks an important step in the business’ continued growth and geographic expansion”.
Based near Eversley, in north Hampshire, Collard Group is known for services including demolition and earthworks, and producing recycled aggregates and ready-mix concrete and screed.
Rob, a multiple race winner in the British Touring Car Championship, said: “I’m very pleased to have completed another major acquisition.
“The Rookery facility will significantly extend the reach of our recycling and aggregates operations across the South Coast, complementing our existing facility at Nursling, in Hampshire.
“This is another significant investment, which strengthens our operational network and our ability to deliver services to customers across the region.”
The deal was supported by Reading, Henley-on-Thames and Wokingham-based law firm Blandy & Blandy.
The legal operator’s team was led by partners Peter Woolley and Katja Wigham, with support from associates Emma Ford and Paul Wilkinson.
Peter said: “We are delighted to have advised Collard Group – a longstanding client – on this latest acquisition.
“The deal further strengthens the company’s market position.”
Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP advised Elysian Capital and other sellers.
