Flooring firm 'ready to step on' as revenues increase
A flooring firm says it is on a firm growth footing after rising demand boosted a “transformational” manufacturing investment.
AIREA saw group revenue rise more than ten per cent to £10.8 million in the six months to June 30, with operating profit increasing by about two thirds to £500,000.
Officials say the numbers were fuelled by 10.2 per cent year-on-year sales growth across the UK and Ireland, and a “recovery” across international markets, where year-on-year demand lifted 9.9 per cent.
They add the Ossett-headquartered floor coverings operator is also now benefiting from a previously announced manufacturing investment, which they say “substantially increases capacity and incorporates automated processes using the latest artificial intelligence imagery and inspection technology”.
Martin Toogood, non-executive chair at AIREA – whose portfolio includes contract carpet and tile maker Burmatex –said its progress has helped the firm surmount economic and geopolitical uncertainty.
He said: “The group has experienced positive trading in the third quarter and the order book remains healthy.
“The major transformational investment in the group’s manufacturing facility is now fully operational and production is expected to scale in the coming months.
“The additional capacity will provide a solid platform for growth and enable the group to capitalise on future market opportunities.
“While global market conditions remain uncertain and challenging, the board has continued confidence its recent investments will provide greater stability and support the delivery of sustained profitable growth.”
