Furniture firm makes room for growth with new base

A furniture maker says it is poised to fashion growth after a factory move.

NaughtOne has moved to a 33,000sq ft base in Birstall, near Leeds.

Officials say the hub is nearly three times larger than the table, chair and sofa company’s former Elland home and will make furniture for UK and European markets.

They add it will also support product and upholstery development, and “welcome clients and partners from around the world to experience manufacturing first-hand”.

The building, known as Norquest House, complements a Harrogate headquarters and showrooms in London, Chicago and New York.

Nadean McNaught, managing director at NaughtOne, which recently celebrated its 21st anniversary, said: “This is a big moment as we step into our 22nd year.

“Having grown out of our much-loved Elland factory, we’d reached the point where we needed more space.

“There was no question it had to be in Yorkshire; staying true to our roots is important to us, and we couldn’t be happier in our new home.”

Rob Hamilton, director of global operations, added: “Moving our production operation into such a large space was no mean feat, and I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make it happen.”
