Developer hits 'milestone' on 1000-job industrial hub
A 1000-job industrial hub has moved a step closer.
Rula Developments has completed “milestone” enabling works on the first phase of the Teeslink site.
Bosses say the 54-acre venture – based close to Eaglescliffe, near Stockton-on-Tees – could support as many as 1000 jobs across buildings ranging from 3000sq ft to 500,000sq ft.
They add the first units could be occupied from next summer onwards.
The land, based a mile from the A66, was bought by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council in 2021 with money from Tees Valley Combined Authority’s Indigenous Growth Fund.
Anthony Clitheroe, development director at privately-owned Rula Developments, which operates from a base at Bawtry, near Doncaster, said completion of enabling works – carried out by Hartlepool-headquartered Seymour Civil Engineering – represents an “important milestone”.
He said: “With serviced plots, development plateaus and highway access and utilities in place, we can move quickly to deliver buildings that meet each occupier’s operational and commercial requirements.
Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen said: “Supporting fantastic developments like this is about making sure our region has the high-quality business space companies need to invest, grow and create skilled and well-paid jobs.”
Councillor Paul Rowling, deputy leader and cabinet member for resources and regeneration at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, added: “Teeslink will be a vital employment site for the region and boost the local economy.”
