Media agency targets new markets with London base
An independent media agency has opened a new London office as part of expansion plans that are expected to create 20 jobs by the end of 2026.
R4 Advertising has opened the base at Battersea Power Station following a series of client wins and continued investment in its team and commercial operation.
The expansion has already created eight roles, with further recruitment planned as the agency grows across UK and international markets.
Founder and chief executive Matt Jones MBE said: “London isn't simply another office for us. It’s an important part of the next stage of R4.
“We’ve built a model that is commercially different, we’re winning increasingly significant mandates, and we’re now building the team and presence to match that ambition.
“Battersea gives us a base at the centre of one of the world’s most important advertising markets, but this is bigger than London.
“We’re building an independent media business capable of competing internationally.
“We’ve got the clients, we’ve got the model, and now we’re investing aggressively in the people who can help us take it further.”
R4, which was founded in Cardiff and was previously known as Rebel Lion Advertising, has secured several major contracts in recent months, including eight-figure agreements, while expanding its work across Europe.
Its growing portfolio spans the retail, automotive, sport, leisure, live entertainment, wellbeing and FMCG sectors, with recent partnerships including Dr Wills, Revive Collagen, Global Brands, Harlequins, Six Nations, The Trade Centre Group and Delaware.
The agency operates through its Trade. Plan. Activate. model, combining media economics with audience intelligence, planning and activation.
Now in its fifth year, R4 also operates from Manchester and has a presence in New York, with the new London office further supporting its UK and international growth ambitions.
Aaron Corria, director of people and expansion at R4 Advertising, added: “Our immediate priority is building a high-calibre London team around the growth we’re already seeing.
“We’ve created eight roles as part of the initial expansion and expect that number to reach 20 by the end of the year.
“We’re looking for commercially ambitious people who want to help build something, rather than simply step into something that’s already been built.”
