Cooper Parry expands private client team
Accountancy and advisory firm Cooper Parry has strengthened its private client team with the appointment of Meghan ‘Meg’ Watt as associate partner.
Meg joins from Deloitte, where she spent 17 years in Canada and the UK advising entrepreneurs, founders, business leaders and other high-net-worth individuals on complex tax matters.
She has particular expertise working with professional athletes, actors, content creators and family offices supporting entertainers.
Working with clients across the UK, Meg will help grow Cooper Parry’s sports and entertainment private client offering, advising individuals whose careers and commercial interests span multiple businesses, territories and income streams.
Her experience includes supporting clients through international relocations, business exits and the structuring of new ventures, alongside managing their day-to-day personal tax requirements.
Meg said: “I’m excited to be joining Cooper Parry at such a significant stage in its growth journey.
“There’s a really ambitious mindset here, a fantastic culture, and I’m looking forward to helping build our sports and entertainment private client offering.
“The sector moves quickly and the individuals working within it need advisers who can keep pace.
“Whether it’s professional athletes, entertainers, content creators, founders or entrepreneurial talent, the challenges they face are rarely straightforward and often evolve rapidly.
“My focus is on becoming their trusted adviser, helping them navigate opportunities and challenges with confidence.
“By combining technical expertise with a genuinely personal approach, we can help individuals make informed decisions and stay ahead as their careers and ambitions grow.”
Meg’s appointment forms part of Cooper Parry’s continued investment in its specialist private client offering as the firm expands its presence across the sports and entertainment sectors.
Adam Waller, national head of tax at Cooper Parry, added: “Another brilliant addition to the Cooper Parry Tax team.
“Meg brings 17 years of experience from Deloitte, a fantastic track record in sports and entertainment, and exactly the kind of ambitious, people-focused mindset we’re building across Cooper Parry.
“As we continue investing in next gen advisers and specialist expertise, Meg will play a key role in growing our private client offering for sportspeople, entertainers, creators, founders and executives across the UK.”
