Law firm 'confident for future' after record turnover
A law firm says it is “confident of future success” after capping a five-year growth strategy with record turnover.
Muckle LLP saw earnings rise nine per cent to £20.6 million in the year to March 31.
Bosses say the figure marks a fifth consecutive year of increased turnover and net profit, which they add leaves the firm on a strong footing to launch a fresh half-decade success blueprint.
According to its results, the operator – which runs offices in Newcastle, Stockton-on-Tees and Penrith, in Cumbria – enjoyed “solid growth” across its commercial, construction and banking teams.
The firm says its agriculture, rural estates and private client team also grew “significantly”, with its commercial debt recovery team more than doubling in size.
Ten promotions were made across the year, including three to partner level and six to associate status.
Anthony Evans, managing partner, said: “It’s great to report another successful year.
“Our focus is on achieving significant and sustainable growth across our offices.
“That will be combined with continuing to recruit, engage, develop and retain the best people, and making sure we give them an environment to thrive.
“We will naturally change as we grow, but that will be an evolution; our vision, what we believe in and our commitment to being a force for good for our people and communities won’t change.
“We are confident of future success.”
The firm’s annual results also showed it distributed grants worth £61,435 to 27 charities.
Support included £5000 for Project John, a Cumbrian youth homelessness charity; £5000 for Clean Slate Solutions, a Teesside charity helping people with past convictions find employment; and £5000 to the Country Trust.
