Tech firm 'plugged in for growth' with city move
A tech firm has expanded with a city office move.
Redesmere has opened a Newcastle base.
Bosses say the venture will support the business’ ambitions to “build its presence in the North East for the long-term”.
They add the move – into the Spire building, which neighbours the Tyne Bridge – “further cements Newcastle’s position as one of the UK’s most dynamic technology hubs”.
Headquartered in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, the company is known for digital transformation, cloud service and artificial intelligence support to public and private sector organisations.
Lee Murray, Redesmere senior manager, said: “Our ambition is to become the trusted digital transformation partner across the region, which means being close to clients.
“We chose Newcastle not only because of its established digital and tech ecosystem, research capabilities, skills, talent pool, expertise in fintech, gaming, space and defence, data science and immersive technologies, but because of its collaborative approach to business.”
The company, whose portfolio includes a major Department for Work and Pensions hybrid hosting and cloud transition project, was supported by promotion agency Invest Newcastle on its move.
Councillor Owen Burbridge, Newcastle City Council cabinet member for economy, jobs and skills, said: “Redesmere establishing a presence here is another vote of confidence in the city and the wider North East, and adds to the momentum we are seeing across a range of different sectors.
“I look forward to seeing Redesmere’s team grow and thrive in Newcastle.”
Michael Guthrie, property manager of Central Space at the Spire, added: “Redesmere joins a diverse mix of companies, further strengthening the building’s role in bringing businesses into the heart of the city.”
