Mock Investigation Training Workshop
Acas is hosting an interactive online training session designed to help employers confidently manage disciplinary and grievance investigations in the workplace.
When issues arise at work, carrying out a thorough and fair investigation is essential. It helps employers gather the relevant facts, avoid assumptions and costly mistakes, and maintain trust across their organisation.
This immersive training event walks participants through a realistic, acted workplace scenario from start to finish, demonstrating how a disciplinary investigation should be handled in practice.
Through expert guidance from Acas trainers, attendees will see each stage of the process unfold, from deciding whether an investigation is required to reaching a fair and balanced conclusion.
The session highlights best practice, explores different perspectives and challenges, and gives participants the opportunity to ask questions throughout.
The workshop is particularly suited to HR professionals, line managers, team leaders, small business owners, senior managers and anyone responsible for handling disciplinary or grievance matters.
Across the three-hour session, participants will learn how to prepare and carry out an investigation, conduct investigation meetings, manage different types of witnesses, and apply confidentiality and fairness at every stage.
By the end of the training, attendees will feel more confident initiating investigations, managing sensitive conversations and evaluating evidence effectively.
Delivered online via Zoom, the trainer-led session includes case studies, acted role-play scenarios, videos, quizzes and live discussion.
Participants will also receive a digital certificate, useful handouts and a copy of the presentation slides.
The event takes place on March 25 from 09:30 to 12:30, with tickets priced at £170 per person (VAT exempt).
