Birthday Celebrations for b
Around one hundred and fifty people gathered last night to mark the fifth birthday of creative communications agency The bgroup (the team behind bdaily). The party took place in the company’s new office - a refurbished Grade II listed building in the heart of Newcastle’s Grainger Town - where it has moved to enable it to undertake ambitious expansion plans that will see it double its workforce over the next 18 months. This plan is already underway, with the first new staff member joining the b in March. Dawn Burton is leaving her post as Managing Director of The Virtual Tour Group to join The bgroup as technical manager overseeing the company’s web team. The bgroup, which has trebled its turnover in the past two years and more than doubled its staff numbers in the past 12 months, has outgrown its previous home at 1 Charlotte Square and has moved its 14 employees into a high-tech hub known as i6, also in Charlotte Square. The agency, which has the National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship, Shell STEP, Enterprise Insight and Aspire amongst its clients, is on course for turnover to pass the £1m barrier this year and to employing 24 people within 18 months. With a growing list of national clients, the company has recently overhauled its own web presence.
The site – at www.thebgroup.co.uk – has been launched for user feedback as their developers work on final tweaks. Feel free to take a look and email jo@thebgroup.co.uk with your thoughts.Â
