Boost for Tees Valley tourism
Businesses in the Tees Valley can learn how to make the most of the growing tourism market in a series of free events planned for this month. Organised by Tees Valley Area Tourism Partnership, the events are aimed at tourism and leisure organisations in the region. They will include advice on how to promote to the right audience and sell to the local community, tourists, business contractors and groups or parties. They also aim to provide businesses with a better understanding of who is visiting the area and why. Julia Frater, Head of Tees Valley Area Tourism Partnership, said: “Attendees can discover market trends and important information on current visitor profiles. They will also learn exactly where they can get help from in the Tees Valley area but most importantly, they’ll leave with a clear understanding of how they can generate more revenue for their business over the next year – something every business wants.” The first event is on Tuesday 5th September at Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience from 10 until 11.30am. Another two events are to be held on Thursday 7th September with the first at 9:30am until 12:30pm at Gisborough Hall on Whitby Lane, and the second event at St. George Hotel, Durham Tees Valley Airport, scheduled from 2pm until 5pm. Anyone wishing to attend must book a place and can do so by contacting Victoria Cornfield on 01642 264 935.
