TV Ads For North East England Screened Tonight

The first ever television advert promoting North East England will be screened tonight in a bid to boost tourism in the region.

Directed by internationally acclaimed director Adrian Moat from North Shields, the advert captures the spirit of the region through the eyes of a young couple as they visit the North East?s landmark locations, including The Angel of the North, Hadrian?s Wall, Penshaw Monument, Bamburgh and Seahouses, Durham Cathedral, the Farne Islands, Guisborough Priory, High Force, NewcastleGateshead, Roseberry Topping and Stanhope.

The advert will continue to air nationwide throughout February and March on over 1,000 spots on ITV1’s Tyne Tees, Granada and Yorkshire regions, Channel 4’s Tyne Tees, Granada, Yorkshire and Midlands regions, Five’s Tyne Tees, Granada and Yorkshire regions and on national satellite channels including Sky Sports, ITV2, More 4, E4 and Discovery. Stacy Hall, Director of Communications at One NorthEast, said: ?The North East England tourism industry already brings £1billion a year to the regional economy. However, our aim is for it to contribute considerably more and to play a central role in our plans to achieve a vibrant and sustainable North East economy.

This television campaign is an important step forward in communicating the many great attractions of the North East to a wide audience who, in many cases will have limited understanding of our region and all it has to offer. I am confident that this strikingly beautiful commercial will capture the imagination of those who view it and inspire many to come and discover our region for themselves.? Viewers in North East England will have their first chance to see the advert at approximately 7:15pm tonight (14th February) during the commercial break in Emmerdale on ITV1 North.
