£1000 available for Gateshead communities
Community groups in Gateshead have until next Monday to apply for up to £1,000 in Gateshead Council grants.
The cash is available for voluntary or community sector groups, and social enterprises. Any groups or community businesses that provide local services to local people can apply for the grants. Funding is prioritised to groups that are working towards key council priorities such as promoting healthy lifestyles, or working with younger or older people.
Some of the groups that have already benefited from community cash grants include Birtley Youth Club, Blaydon Arts Group, Caedmon Choir, Greenside Cricket Club, Lamesley Childcare, Rowlands Gill Over 60’s Club, Ryton and District Music Festival, Stoneygate Community Association and Whickham In Bloom Committee.
Ring for an application pack on 0191 433 2268, email the grants and awards team at grantsandawards@gateshead.gov.uk or download one from www.gateshead.gov.uk/grantsandawards. The deadline for applications is Monday October 2 and a decision will be made around the end of December.
