Business handed over to employees
One of the fastest growing businesses in the North East is to be handed over to its staff. The founder and managing director of County Durham’s CA Group, Henry Agnew, is transferring the business to a Trust for the benefit of existing and future employees. The group will become an Employee Benefit Trust, which, it is hoped, will help maintain the independence and culture of the business.
Mr Agnew said: “There has been tremendous interest in the trade in this business because of its culture and success. Now that I have decided to retire I wanted to say thank you to all those people who have worked so hard to make CA Group the success it is today. “I also wanted to ensure that the business continues to grow and thrive in its current form with its independence and culture protected. I believe this culture and the tremendous relationship we have with our customers and suppliers is at the heart of our success.”
CA Group was recently named one of the 50 fastest growing busiensses in the region, and has recently completed a new £4.5 million purpose built facility to handle the growth in their business and to accommodate product innovation.
