Business park brings 150 new jobs to Hartlepool
Work has started on a new multi-million pound commercial property development designed to expand a flagship business park and boost local job creation prospects. Rivergreen Developments plc has started work on a £6.2m scheme to provide a range of new high specification business units at Hartlepool’s Queens Meadow Business Park.
Under the first phase of the plans, the investment will provide seven commercial units and around 150 new jobs. The project is being assisted with funding from Tees Valley Partnership (TVP), one of many in the town to be supported by TVP through One NorthEast.
Martin Simpson, Programme Manager for Tees Valley Partnership, said: “Queens Meadow is rapidly becoming one of the Tees Valley’s real success stories and this latest development will make it even more attractive to a wide range of businesses. “It demonstrates the tremendous transformation taking place in Hartlepool and will further strengthen the efforts of local and regional agencies to encourage both inward investment and the creation of more home-grown businesses.”
John Holmes, Director of Regeneration and Tourism at One NorthEast, said: “The Agency and our partners always knew that Queens Meadow would be a fantastic addition to Hartlepool and the region, and we have certainly been proved right. “Over the last few months we have seen the site come on leaps and bounds, and with Rivergreen Developments having started work on their high-quality business units, we can see the full potential of Queens Meadow – to be one of the leading business parks in North East England – will be achieved.”
