Biscuit Factory hosts third Contemporary Art Auction
Art lovers in the North East are being invited to take part in the region’s third contemporary art auction. Since their launch in 2006 the events have proved popular and have represented a wide range of artists, ranging from the world-renowned to the local up and coming. The Northern Contemporary Art Auctions are quarterly events organised by The Biscuit Factory in collaboration with Jim Railton Auction House.
The next auction will be held at The Biscuit Factory, Newcastle, the largest contemporary art store in Europe, on 19 April at 7pm. It is expected that around 200 lots will be in the auction – ranging from watercolours to sculpture to oil paintings.
Andy Balman, director of The Biscuit Factory, said: “It is a great chance to take part in this popular event in Newcastle. These series of auctions create new opportunities for artists, customers and galleries alike. “We know there is a growing market of art buyers and we aim to demonstrate the strength of the secondary market.”
With this auction, The Biscuit Factory intends to provide an alternative channel for people purchasing art works, with viewings starting on April 13. For further information, people are advised to visit www.northerncontemporaryartauctions.co.uk.
