Website puts North East homebuyers in charge
A new website designed and developed in the North East launched yesterday to introduce homebuyers to homesellers without involving estate agents. The site – www.uBuyPrivate.com – is the brainchild of entrepreneurs Richard and Rosa Laverick, who saw an opportunity to allow sellers and buyers to deal directly with each other, potentially saving thousands of pounds.
Rosa said: “Today’s homeowners have all the tools they need – just an Internet connection and some basic information about the property itself. Whether people are looking to buy, sell, rent or let a property they can all benefit by cutting out the middleman and going direct.”
uBuyPrivate.com also offers help to homesellers when choosing an appropriate advertising package and helps them to build the advert itself. The seller then decides whether prospective buyers should contact them by telephone, email or both.
Brian Hannaway, Centre Manager of the Northumberland Enterprise Centre at Ashington, where the company is based, said: “We are delighted to have young entrepreneurs like uBuyPrivate.com based here and I’m confident they will benefit from our facilities and support and become a successful business venture.”
Herb Kim, CEO of Codeworks, the North East’s centre of digital innovation, said: “Since as early as 2004, we’ve been predicting the rise of a new wave of Internet businesses enabled by broadband capacity. We are really pleased to see the rise of yet another promising Internet business starting up in North East England.”
