Architects showcase 10 years of creativity
A North East design and architectural firm is celebrating 10 years of creative projects this week by hosting a week-long exhibition of photographic works at Northern Print, the centre for contemporary printmaking based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Mosedale Gillatt Architects (MGA) will showcase past and present assignments through a series of images taken by artist Jill Smith. The company works with artists as part of its design process. It is currently taking part in the Arts Council Artist Placement programme, ensuring the team has an artist working in residency for at least 40 days per year. Jill Smith took part in the scheme last year.
Tim Mosedale, Director at MGA said, “We at MGA have always been actively involved with the arts and cultural community in and around the North East. Our continued success in winning ‘arts’ led projects alongside our collaboration with the Arts Council, is true testament to the team’s creative vision. This exhibition not only marks 10 years of our creative work but also reflects the success of individuals and the growth of the company as a whole.”
MGA have described the primary concept of the collection as ‘the disparity and tension between inside and out’. Opened by Judith King, curator of the contemporary arts programme for English Heritage, the exhibition will run from 3 to 8 July. Northern Print is located at Stepney Bank, Ouseburn, Newcastle upon Tyne. For more information visit www.northernprint.org.uk or call 0191 261 7000.
