Shell spring funding prize on green firms
An ecologically-conscious funding prize is now open for a third round of applications, for small businesses who have a product or service that reduces greenhouse gases. Shell Springboard is a programme that provides a financial boost to innovative, low carbon business ideas from across the UK.
Shell want to promote the idea that tackling climate change can be about more than just and compliance – that with a great idea and a sound business plan it could be a huge opportunity. The fund will make awards of between £20,000 and £40,000 in early 2008. You may be able to benefit from this, or know someone who could.
To be eligible:
- Your product or service must reduce greenhouse gases, be innovative and commercially viable
- You must have been in business for at least three months, as a sole trader or a company employing fewer than 250 people
Applications are made online and the deadline is 9 November 2007. To speak to the Springboard team directly, go along to one of the 10 Shell Springboard Surgeries taking place in UK cities (including Newcastle) over the next three months.
