Product Designer
Salary: £24,690 p.a. + benefits
Design Right Solutions (DRS) specialises in product design, concept generation electronics and commercialisation of a wide range of products. We are looking for a creative, innovative and skilful product designer to join our team.
With its headquarters at the Business & Innovation Centre, Sunderland, DRS staff has national and international experience, working for a prestigious portfolio of clients, who are market leaders in a range of sectors including automotive, pharmaceutical, medical and consumer product industries. You will play a key role in this studio working with a team of multi-disciplined people to deliver a varied range of products and have a full understanding of the design and development process from initial sketch work through prototyping, to delivering the finished products. Consideration of time, budgetary and project planning will be required.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Initial client meetings to determine client brief and project specification
- Provide creative concept product ideas, sketchwork and illustrations
- 3D modelling, rapid prototyping, creation of manufacturing data and project management
- To liase with subcontractors and suppliers
- To be involved in producing quotations ranging from an individual part up to a multi component products
Key Skills/Qualifications:
- Qualified to HND level in product/industrial design
- Proven track record
- Proficient in Solidworks 2007
- Inventive mind, with the ability to solve problems
- Versatile attitude
- A good team player with an open mind and fresh ideas
- To be aware of latest tends and technology innovations
